Claire Kwong is een boeiende game-ontwikkelaar uit New York. In haar werk gaat ze steeds op zoek hoe ze via games mensen kan connecteren. Ze is zelf introvert en ziet haar games als een middel om zichzelf en de toeschouwer uit te dagen om contact te maken. Verwacht je aan immersieve motion capture installaties die jou en je (toekomstige) vrienden in beweging zetten.

Between

Twee spelers zitten tegenover elkaar. Hun lichamen creëren silhouetten die hun huid oplichten. Wanneer ze beide handen vasthouden, creëren ze een geometrische vorm in de ruimte tussen hun lichamen. Beschouw het als een twister 2.0 waar de kronkels van jullie lichamen je naar nieuwe levels helpen.

Light Touches Skin

Deze installatie is geïnspireerd op partnerdans. Voel de projecties tegen je huid. Rek je lichaam uit om ze te vervormen. Dans met iemand tot je in een vorm past. Complexe bewegingen ontstaan door eenvoudige regels. Gedeelde onhandigheid kan je dichter bij elkaar brengen.

Chromapose

Voor deze game is niet meer dan je smartphone nodig om je met anderen aan het dansen te brengen.

Interpose

De verbinding tussen je smartphones mag je hier erg letterlijk en fysiek interpreteren. Eens jullie mobieltjes letterlijk aan elkaar geklikt zijn kan de game beginnen.

Between

Two players sit face to face. Their bodies create silhouettes that illuminate their skin. When they join hands, they form a geometric shape in the space between them. They must then move this shape to fit the outlines on the floor. As they do so, the players move together, creating a performance for the audience.

Light Touches Skin

Inspired by partner dance, this installation stages collaborative encounters between people. It seeks to destabilize the senses and push the boundaries of intimacy. Feel the projections against your skin and stretch your body to distort them. Dance with someone until you fit the shape. Complex movements emerge from simple rules. Shared awkwardness can bring you closer together.
